LAKEWOOD - The Women's Club of Lakewood recently held its fall membership wine and cheese party at the home of Mary Beth Wuebbolt, who served as hostess.
Kate Galbato and Lynn Gruel were the co-chairmen. All members of the organization were welcomed to the annual event that launches the year's activities. The group was served a selection of hors d'oeuvres as well as wines. New members were given the opportunity to learn about the diverse interest groups and to join any of them. The new officers were present to inform the membership of the variety of programs planned for the coming year.
Club programs occur monthly. The next event will feature a presentation entitled "Meet a Local Hero" at the Lakewood Community Center at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 12. Speakers will be Bob Swift, a World War II prisoner of war, and Jennifer Champ, Jackson Center collections manager.
