YORKSHIRE - Behind the passing of senior Austin Mietz, Akron (6-3) rolled over Southwestern (3-6) in the Chuck Funke Memorial Classic Consolation Bowl Class C title game game on Thursday night.
Mietz threw three touchdowns passes and ran in two more as the Tigers won, 38-7.
Mietz hit Austen Lauricella from 10 and 45 yards out and Sturgis Sundown from 30 yards while hitting paydirt on runs of 20 and 47 yards.
The Trojans scored only in the first quarter when Kevin Bellardo went in from the five and Jake Pilling booted the extra points.
