OLEAN - In the battle for the Division 1 girls volleyball crown, Olean (11-1, 15-1) prevailed over Falconer (11-2), 25-20, 25-21, 22-25, 25-20, on Friday.
Bri Spears had 29 assists, six kills and 18 digs, Janelle Shaffer 12 digs, 16 kills and two blocks, and Sara Zeigler six digs, six kills and a block for the winners.
Falconer recorded 27 kills, 58 digs and six blocks in the defeat.
Olean (11-1) also won the junior varsity title with a 23-25, 25-19, 25-22 win.
DIVISION 3
DRAGONS SHINE
Jessie Babbage had four kills, an assist, five blocks and an ace and Nickara Liddell nine kills, five digs and two aces as Maple Grove (3-7, 6-12) prevailed over Brocton (1-11, 1-16), 25-8, 25-5, 25-23.
Taylor Satalino added four kills, two assists, 10 digs and seven aces, and Taylor Whalen eight assists, five digs and an ace for the winners.
Paige Odelbralski recorded five kills, a block and an ace, and Kyoko Inagaki three kills and two aces for Brocton.
Maple Grove won the junior varsity match.
NON-LEAGUE
TROJANS EDGE PANAMA
PANAMA - Carli Carlson recorded 12 kills and a block, and Haley Westerdahl 18 digs and four aces as Southwestern (7-1, 12-5) edged Panama (6-4, 9-6), 25-16, 25-16, 16-25, 16-25, 25-14.
Tara Schutte had two kills, three blocks and 29 assists, Sally Rudny nine kills and five blocks, and Taylor Brecht four aces and two kills in the win.
Crystal Swanson delivered 16 kills, Cora Monroy 10 kills, nine points, an ace and a dig while Carley Abbate 28 assists, four kills, three digs and an ace for the Lady Panthers.
Also for Panama, Taylor Bowen had seven kills and two digs.
Southwestern won the junior varsity match, 25-17, 25-20.
LADY HORNETS BREEZE
FORESTVILLE - The Forestville Lady Hornets won their 14th match in 16 outings, downing North Collins, 25-13, 25-15, 25-17.
Sydney Youngberg led the way with 10 kills, five aces, three blocks and three digs, while Ryanne Dugan chipped in iwth 23 assists, four digs and one kill. Helping the cause for Forestville were Emily Gilman with five kills, two aces and one assists, Alisha Szumigala with four blocks and four assists and Kendra Silleman with four aces and six digs.
Arrika Bley had five kills, Bess Kibler an ace, four kills and one block, and Christine Blidy one ace, two kills, two block, 11 assists and two digs for North Collins.
Forestville also claimed the junior varsity match.
