Robert and Betty Anderson celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house at the Gerry Rodeo Grounds in Gerry, N.Y. They have five children: Jerry Anderson of Ellington, Michael Anderson of Jamestown, Kimberly Collins of Dunkirk, Robert Anderson Jr. of Manteca, Calif., and Tracy Davenport of Fisherville, Ky. They also have 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
They were married Oct. 6, 1962, at the Portland Congregational Church in Portland. The Rev. Blume performed the ceremony.
Anderson is retired from the Jamestown Police Department and the Falconer School District, where he had been employed as a bus driver. Mrs. Anderson is retired from the Frewsburg Rest Home, where she had been employed as a housekeeper.
