Chester and Maxine Brown of Jamestown, N.Y., celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a trip to Fort Myers, Fla., Dallas, Texas, and Atlantic City. They are the parents of Kirk Brown of Colleyville, Texas, Kristin Thurston of Grapevine, Texas, and Kim Peterson of Fort Myers, Fla. They are also the grandparents of Erik and Ellie Peterson, Nolan, Loren and Cole Brown and Jaret, Breck and Taya Thurston.
Brown and the former Maxine Szafran were married Oct. 13, 1962, in St. Stephen's Church, Oil City, Pa.
Brown is a veteran of the U.S. Army and retired from the Board of Public Utilities. He is a member of South Hills Country Club and Lakewood Rod and Gun. Mrs. Brown is retired from Jamestown Public Schools, where she is employed as a substitute.
