Pleszewski Shines In Net For JCC

BUFFALO - Molly Pleszewski made several spectacular saves in playing her best game of the season for the Jamestown Community College women's soccer team (8-6-2) on Saturday.

Pleszewski came up with 15 saves overall in the 3-1 win over Erie CC in NJCAA Region 3, Division III action.

Jill Slawiak scored her third goal of the season on a corner kick at 11 minutes to give JCC a 1-0 advantage.

Nicole Mahoney, who had a hat trick earlier in the week, tallied her seventh goal of the year on an assist from Ashley Skelly at 35 minutes for a 2-0 lead at 35 minutes.

In the second half, Megan Wilcox sent a pass to Mahoney and she scored her eighth goal of the season.

Jasmine Wiggins spoiled the shutout at 35 minutes for ECC.

JCC FALLS

BUFFALO - Two first-half defensive breakdowns less than two minutes apart proved costly as the Jamestown Community College Jayhawks lost at Erie CC, 3-1, in a Region 3 Division III soccer game.

The Kats' found the back of the net at 18:35 and 20:25 to build a 2-0 lead at halftime and then added an insurance goal off a corner kick with 15 minutes left in the second half.

The Jayhawks' goal was scored by Dan Guy on an assist from Nolan Farr.

Ben Morgan recorded eight saves for the Jayhawks (8-8-2, 5-6-2), who travel to meet the Roberts Wesleyan junior varsity at 4 p.m., Wednesday.

The regionals are scheduled for Saturday at a site to be determined.
