SWCS Changes Vacation Day
At the Tuesday meeting, the Southwestern Central School Board of Education moved the Jan. 28, 2013 Superintendent's Conference Day to Monday, Oct. 22. The change to the school calendar means that there will be no school for students on Monday, Oct. 22, but instead Monday, Jan. 28, 2013, will be a regular school day for students. Panama School Board To Meet
PANAMA - The Panama Central School Board of Education will hold its scheduled board meeting Monday at 7 p.m. in the board room. This meeting is open to the public.
Vendors Sought For Craft Show
OTTO - The Otto Order of the Eastern Star 513 is looking for vendors as part of its annual Holiday Craft Show, which is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 3 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Masonic Lodge Hall in Otto. The event features a lunch of chili, hot dogs or hamburgers while visitors browse through local crafters' booths. A bake sale is also scheduled for the event. Vendors interested in reserving an 8-foot space for $15 are asked to contact Sandy Pilon at 640-4385 or email spilon@atlanticbb.net.
Fire Auxiliary
To Meet Tuesday
GERRY - The Gerry Volunteer Fire Auxiliary will meet at 7 p.m. on Tuesday in the Gerry Fire Hall. Discussion will be on the craft show and work schedules. All members are encouraged to attend. Refreshments will be served.
Curves To Host Charity Event
LAKEWOOD - Curves is hosting a Zumba Dance Party in the Chautauqua Mall to benefit LINKS Charity and the local fight against breast cancer today from 1 to 3 p.m. Registration is $7 per person and will begin at noon. The Zumba dancing will take place outside Curves under the skylights and is designed by certified Zumba instructors for all ages and stages of fitness. Women's Club To Meet Tuesday
The Allen Park Women's Club will meet Tuesday at the Salvation Army at 6 p.m. for their annual potluck dinner. Each member is to bring a dish to pass and their own table service. The following committee will furnish dessert and beverage. Carm Bellitto, chairwoman; Cheryl DeMaio, Sue Genco, Karen Johnson, Audene Jarosz, Beth Stewart and Nancy Wilson. The speaker will be Leslie Vattimo from the Salvation Army. On Thursday Oct. 25, the Allen Park Women's Club will have a Friendly's family Fun Day where 15 percent of proceeds will be donated to The Women's Club for their park projects.
