The Post-Journal

OLEAN - For the first time since 2000, Southwestern clinched at least a tie in Division 1 boys soccer Thursday afternoon.

Tristan Desnerck scored both goals as the Trojans (8-0-1, 11-1-2) edged Olean (7-1-1, 11-2-1), 2-1, to move within a win - they play Falconer on Tuesday - of sewing up an overall crown.

Desnerck had the only goal of the first half from Tanner Hoose at 8:03.

At 2:03 of the second half Desnerck recorded an unassisted tally for a 2-0 lead.

The Huskies got on the scoreboard when Liam McNamee scored from Nick Bailey at 32:39 to slice the deficit to 2-1.

After the score, Olean pressured the Southwestern net, but goalie Eric Priester stood up and held them off.

Priester wound up with five saves, as did Alex Austin of Olean.

The first meeting between the Trojans and the Huskies wound up as a double-overtime scoreless tie.
