GREENHURST - Edna M. Harrington, 86, of the Heritage Green Rehab and Skilled Nursing Center, formerly of Church Street, East Randolph and Main Street, Randolph, passed away Wednesday (Oct. 10, 2012) in the home.
She was born Feb. 21, 1926, in Ellicottville, N.Y. the daughter of the late Edwin and Marian Davis Flagg. Edna attended Randolph Central School and later owned and operated the former Links Restaurant in Randolph. She will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother. She was also a nanny to many children in Randolph.
She had worked for her family at their Redwing and Horse Shoe restaurants in Onoville, N.Y. She was a member of the East Randolph United Methodist Church, Randolph American Legion Auxiliary Unit 181 and their 8 & 40, Randolph Veteran of Foreign Wars Auxiliary Unit 6533, and Randolph Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 2273.
She is survived by a son Phillip (Anne Thompson) Harrington of Randolph, two daughters: Deborah L. Hays and husband Roger of Gerry, and Irene Sluga of Randolph; a sister, Jane Anderson and husband Dale of Randolph; eight grandchildren: Sherry Bjork of Jamestown, Michele Burtner of Rochester, Joseph Harrington of Randolph, Gregory Easton of Maryland, Danielle Easton of Pennsylvania, Cory and Brett Thompson of Randolph, and Randy Mulhern of Maryland; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Phillip Harrington, whom she married on March 27, 1948, and who preceded her in death on Dec. 24, 2000; a son, Daniel Easton in 2010; two brothers: Marvin and James Flagg; and three sis-ters: Irene Buck, Mary Lec-ceardone and Betty Bartlett.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday (Oct. 14, 2012) in the VanRensselaer & Son Funeral Home, 14 Church St., Randolph, N.Y., from where funeral services will follow at 3 p.m. The Rev.
