ROCHESTER - It was a tough day for the Jamestown Community College women's volleyball team as the Jayhawks paid a visit to Monroe CC on Tuesday.
JCC (25-8) took the early lead, but was unable to hold off the Lady Tribunes, who sealed the final match to post a victory in NJCAA Region 3 Division III action.
After the Jayhawks took games one and two, 25-17, 26-24, Monroe responded with three straight wins, 25-18, 25-22 and 15-8.
"We started off strong by winning the first two games," said JCC coach Ashley Lund, "and we were ahead in the fifth game, but they just overpowered us."
For JCC, Christina Rauh produced two aces, 28 assists, 14 kills, 27 digs and a block; Brittany Brace added four assists, 12 kills, eight digs and two blocks; Aricca Lis had three aces, 11 kills, 21 digs and three blocks; and Anna Neitupski collected four aces, eight kills, 14 digs and a block.
JCC will travel to Cayuga CC on Saturday.
