Elizabeth A. Dalrymple

Elizabeth A. Dalrymple, 91, of Hultquist Place, formerly of Falconer, passed away Tuesday (Oct. 9, 2012), in WCA Hospital.

She was the widow of Bernard E. Dalrymple, whom she married July 25, 1945, in Dartford, Kent, England, and who died Aug. 31, 2005.

Elizabeth was born May 27, 1921, in London, England, the daughter of the late Edward G. and Elizabeth C. Palmer Middleditch.

She attended schools in England, and came to the United States on May 8, 1946, settling in the Falconer area.

Elizabeth was employed by the National Worsted Mills, American Manufacturing, Fancher Chair, Sterlingworth and later at the Blackstone Corp. After retirement, she was a housekeeper for Hazel Crossley.

She enjoyed spending time with her family, bowling, knitting, latchhook and watching the Buffalo Bills.

Surviving are three sons: Bernard L. (Barb) Dalrymple of Dewittville, John (Bonnie) Dalrymple of Jamestown, James E. Middleditch of Belvedere, England; a daughter Kathleen (Bill) Matteson of Hartsville, S.C.; 17 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; five sisters: Margaret Ranson of Eltham, England, Jean Wyllie of Garthdee, Scotland, Peggy Ellis of Bexley, England, Lily Cressy of Romford, England and Eileen Ballard of Dartford, England; six half-brothers including: Terry Middleditch of Erith, England; and a stepbrother, Ernie Hildenbrand of Bexley, England.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Theodore Middleditch, in 1974.

The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in the Falconer Funeral Home. Inurnment will be in Pine Hill Cemetery.

Friends will be received by the family from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.

Memorials may be donated to American Cancer Society, Western Regional Office, 101 John James Audubon Parkway, Amherst, NY 14228-1198.
