To the Readers' Forum:
It certainly is with mixed emotions when I read about President DeCinque's impending retirement from JCC. His long tenure has been replete with many succesful improvements in the physical facilities which are readily obvious.
What is not so obvious is the impact he has been able to accomplish in the curricular areas. Despite frequent objections to create programs to improve the offerings designed to meet the emerging demands of the area, Dr. DeCinque prevailed and enabled many students to be trained in occupations desperately needed in the community.
In short, President DeCinque put "community" into Jamestown Community College, making it an even better educational institution for all of Chautauqua and Cattaraugus counties.
Hats off on a job well done and best wishes for a long, healthy and happy and well deserved retirement!
