Land Use Forum Is Oct. 18

October 9, 2012
The Post-Journal

LITTLE VALLEY - The sixth public forum on the County's Comprehensive Plan will be at 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18, in the Legislative Chambers on the third floor of the Cattaraugus County Center, 303 Court St., Little Valley.

The topic will be land use.

Cattaraugus County has a diverse landscape with many different land uses including rural and urban residential living, farming, manufacturing, forestry, mining, hunting and fishing, tourism attractions and related activities and outdoor recreation. The challenge is to manage these many diverse uses on the county's land base in a sustainable manner.

The county is seeking the public's input to the planning process that will develop a new comprehensive plan and vision of the future. The plan will provide a blueprint for the future growth and development of the county in the areas of economic development, agriculture, the environment and natural resources, transportation and infrastructure, arts and culture and land use. Through this process, county officials want to establish clear goals and achievable objectives.

Light refreshments will be served.

For more information, call James H. Isaacson, senior planner, at 938-2320 or email jhisaacson@cattco.org.
