Voter Registration Days Are Set
LITTLE VALLEY - Cattaraugus County will hold voter registration days on Wednesday and Saturday, Oct. 13 for the general election set for Nov. 6. New York State Election Law requires that in presidential election years, boards of election hold two voter registration days. Hours on Wednesday will be 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. while hours on Oct. 13 will be 2 to 9 p.m. All districts can register at the county Board of Elections office, 302 Court St., Little Valley. The last day to register to vote by mail is Friday. Forms may be downloaded from the Internet at www.cattco.org under the board of elections link. Teens who will be 18 on or before Nov. 6 must pre-register before Friday. For more information, call the board of elections at 938-9111, ext. 2400 or 2405.
Frewsburg Board To Meet Thursday
FREWSBURG - The Frewsburg Central School Board of Education will meet Thursday at 6:30 p.m. in the middle/high school library. The public is invited to attend.
Post Offices Closed Monday
In observance of Columbus Day, all post offices will be closed Monday. Stamps are available at most grocery, pharmacy, and convenient stores. For 24/7 access to most postal products and services, go to www.usps.com. There will be no residential or business deliveries.
Southwestern Board To Meet
The Southwestern Central School Borad of Education will hold a regular meeting Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. in the board of education room at the middle school. The purpose of the meeting is to conduct school business. The public is invited to attend.
Potluck Dinner Set For Sunday
The Victory Tabernacle Worship Center, 501 Third St., corner of Clinton and Third streets, will host a potluck dinner at 5 p.m. Sunday. Music will be provided by Cody and Brittany, of Bradford. All are welcome to attend.
Hip-Hop Workshop Offered At YMCA
The Jamestown YMCA will be hosting an Advanced Hip-Hop Dance Workshop on Saturday, Oct. 13 from 1 to 3 p.m. Different styles and techniques of hip-hop will be reviewed. Prior dance training and loose, comfortable clothing are recommended. Space is limited and advance registration is required by no later than Thursday. Lakewood To Host Candidates
LAKEWOOD - A Meet the Candidates rally will occur Saturday, Oct. 13, from noon to 2 p.m. at the Lakewood American Legion, 174 Chautauqua St., Lakewood. Presentations will be made by the candidates, along with a question/answer period to follow. Candidates presenting will be: U.S. Rep. Tom Reed, state Sen. Cathy Young, state Assemblyman Andy Goodell, and Chautauqua County Court Judge John Ward. Following the Lakewood event, the candidates will travel to Olean for a second presentation. The event is sponsored by Southern Tier TEA Party Patriots and Cattaraugus Tea Party.
