George and Grace Hanson of Busti, N.Y., celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Sept. 8, 2012, with their children and grandchildren at a family dinner at Chiodo's Ferro Cucina Restaurant in Warren, Pa., formerly Pace's Restaurant, which was the restaurant they had dinner at on their wedding night. They are the parents of Dr. Jeffrey (Sarah) Hanson of Pittsford, N.Y., Debra (Linda Doverspike) Hanson of Kiantone, N.Y., Scott (Jere' Dittrich) Hanson of Springfield, Mass., and Todd (Barbara) Hanson of Busti, N.Y. They also have nine grandchildren: Eric Loomis of Springfield, Mass., Nicole Loomis of Warren, Pa., Ellen Hanson of St. Louis, Mo., Lyz Hanson of Farmington, N.Y., and Collin, Clayton, Colton, Carson and Catelyn Hanson, all of Busti, N.Y.
Hanson and the former Grace Arrance were married Aug. 16, 1952, in the Conewango Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Matthew Horton performed the ceremony.
Hanson, a veteran of the U.S. Army, retired as foreman from Circle Mechanical. He is also a member of the Lakewood Rod and Gun, Celoron American Legion and the AMVETS in Sugar Grove, Pa. Mrs. Hanson retired from Alltel where she had been employed as a service rep. They are members of the Busti Federated Church.
