Carl Carey won 2 of three games to win the Chautauqua Lake Seniors Horseshoe League.

Carey recorded a 40-10 record to capture the top spot from Ken Hopkins, who was 35-9, by 5 percent.

Otis Blakeslee was third with 34-16? record and was awarded a plaque for having the top game with 104 with 26 ringers for 65 percent.

Dick Franzen was named the player of the year, an award given each year for the member doing the most for the good of the game.

Don McCray was the only three-game winner with games of 83 and 12 ringers, 83 and 11 ringers and 73 and six ringers in the last week of the regular-season.

Blakeslee and Fred Clark tied Topper Westerdahl and Mike Shannon for the Doubles Tournament championship.

Jim Johnson and Franzen were second.

Election of new officers took place with Hopkins being named president and Jerry Vargeson vice-president.
