Ross Grange Plans ‘Make A Difference Day’

Ross Grange met with Robert Goodwin presiding. Betty Wakefield reported on the state Grange Legislative Day she attended in Cortland. Topics included the farm bill, regional schools, farmers markets and post-traumatic stress disorder.

Mrs. Wakefield will be chairman of the annual Holiday Happenings Craft Show to be held at the Falcon's Nest on Nov. 17. More information is available by calling 287-3363.

A resolution of respect was read for Laurene Rice, a longtime member.

A quiz was given on Alzheimer's Disease. Traveling Baskets lists will be distributed at the next meeting to benefit a fundraising project of state grange. Veterans cards will also be available for signing which will be sent to local VA hospitals.

Elaine Melquist, chair of the Community Service Committee will review projects for the coming year. Members should bring suggestions for these projects.

Those attending the meeting on Monday are asked to bring nonperishable items for Make A Difference Day.

This has been a state grange project for several years and given to food cupboards in the area where the annual session is held. Items will be taken by the delegates to the meeting in Cortland for distribution there.
