Philip J. Trusso

Philip J. Trusso, 78, of 13 Arnold St., Jamestown, died at 8:16 p.m. Saturday (Sept. 29, 2012) in UPMC Hamot.

He was born in Jamestown on July 14, 1934, the son of the late Joseph and Sylvia Cerra Trusso. In earlier years he owned and operated Angie's Beauty Salon and later changed the name to Philip's Hairdesigners, both in Warren. In the late 1970s he was a co-owner of Raphael School of Beauty Culture in Jamestown until 1987. In 1997 he joined his daughter at Charm Salon.

He was a member of the Lakewood Rod & Gun Club, a communicant of St. James Catholic Church and a former member of the Knights of Columbus.

Philip will be remembered as a strong and loving husband, wonderful father and father-in-law, and uncle and a special "papa" to his four grandchildren. He enjoyed life every day to the fullest, always leaving a smile on the faces and in the hearts of everyone he touched. Always the believer that laughter was the best medicine, anyone who knew him, knows how much he loved to laugh, especially with his son-in-law Jim, who loving referred to him as "Mr. T". They were never short on the laughter. We will always hold him in our hearts and love him forever and ever.

He is survived by his wife, Joan "Dolly" Conti Trusso, whom he married on August 6, 1955, in St. James Catholic Church, two daughters: Sylvia Ann Trusso (David Emerling), Jamestown and Pamela J. (James) Mistretta, Ashville; four grandchildren: Rachelle A. Mistretta, Charlotte, N.C., Reanne A. Mistretta, New York City, Jessica M. and James J. Mistretta, Ashville; a brother, Sebastian R. (Betty) Trusso, Jamestown, and a sister, Anita R. Pace, East Amherst, N.Y.

He was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Ralph J. Pace, who died Nov. 1, 2006.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. James Catholic Church. The Rev. Darrell G. Duffy, pastor, will be the celebrant.

Friends will be received on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Hubert Funeral Home And Cremation Services, where a Christian Wake Service will be held at 8:30 p.m..
