Edward W. Peterson, 73, of 3526 Bellview Road, Bemus Point, died at 8:13 p.m. Friday (Sept. 28, 2012) at his home.
He was born April 13, 1939, in Jamestown, the son of Edward O. and Winifred Bascom Peterson, and was a graduate of Jamestown High School.
Prior to retiring he had been employed at Mason Carving, and in earlier years had worked at Jamestown Lounge Co.

A communicant of Holy Apostles Parish, Ss. Peter and Paul Church, he was a former Catechist of the Year, and had participated in the Little Rock Bible Study. He was also a former Boy Scout leader.
He enjoyed archery, bowling and leather work. He especially loved woodworking and making miniature furniture.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Ann O'Brien Peterson; two daughters: Hope V. Peterson of Jamestown and Colleen Graves of Penn Yan, N.Y; three sons: Ken (Cindy) Kamholtz of Penn Yan, N.Y., John Kamholtz of Jamestown, and William (Susan) Kamholtz of Frews-burg; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; three sisters: Elaine Samuelson and Shari Wilson, both of Jamestown, and Susan Wilson of Hawaii; and two brothers: Robert Wilson of Watts Flats and Mike Wilson of Jamestown.
He was preceded in death by two sons: Arthur and Matthew Peterson; two daughters: Vicki Peterson and Victoria Thompson; and by several brothers.
