Anna Mackenzie Smith, daughter of Travis and Eileen Smith, of Frewsburg, recently traveled to Rochester to compete in the National American Miss pageant. With her first place win in the Actress category, she has been invited to compete in California for the National All American Miss title. In Rochester, she placed in the top 20 overall. She arrived home Sunday, Aug. 26, after three days of competition. She brought back four trophies and $250. Her wins were: first place, Actress; third runner up, Casual Wear Modeling; state finalist; participation in multiple events. Anna is in the seventh grade. She resides in Frewsburg with her parents, brother Ian and Star the cat. She participates in school plays, playing the parts of Portia in "Cinderella," and Dori in "School House Rock Live, Jr." Anna was fourth runner up and a semifinalist in last year's pageant. She is a straight A student and very active in her church, Trinity United. She is going to use some of her winnings to gift to her church and also to an additional church that her grandparents attend. She takes voice lessons and is a cross country runner.
