OLEAN - Although the score doesn't indicate it, the Jamestown Community College women's soccer team dominated the NJCAA Region 3, Division III matchup Thursday afternoon with JCC-Olean.

''We peppered the heck out of them,''said winning coach Dana Shelters after the Jayhawks (4-4-1) held a 23-2 advantage in shots in the 3-2 victory over the JCC-Olean (1-7).

Goalie Emily Pleszewski made only two saves for the winners and Amy Hulin had 23 saves in the loss.

The hosts scored first at 15 minutes of the first half when Christian Lyman scored to put her team ahead, 1-0. She tallied on a breakaway pass from Danielle Baldwin.

Five minutes Jenny Peterson tied it for the Jayhawks at 1-1 with an assist from Linnea Anderson. Later in the half, Peterson got her fourth goal of the season from Olivia Sinatra for a 2-1 edge at intermission.

Andrea Washington recorded her first of the year from Jill Slawiak at 20 minutes to make it 3-1.

With 10 minutes left, Shauna Applebee of JCC-Olean scored an unassisted goal to slice the deficit to 3-2.
