Museum Open House Is Saturday

An open house, celebrating the first year of The Lakewood Historical Museum, located in the Anthony C. Caprino Municipal Building basement, will be held from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday. Use the entrance on the east side of the building. Many new displays are currently available, and each person attending will receive a historic Christmas ornament of Lakewood. Light refreshments will also be served. Museum hours are from 5 to 7 p.m. each Thursday; 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. each Saturday; or by appointment by calling 763-9357.

Antique Club Bus Trip Is Wednesday

The Antique Study Club will host a fall bus trip to Randolph and Westfield for shopping and visiting antique stores on Wednesday. Room is still available for those interested. The cost is $38 and does not include lunch, which will be in McMurdy's Restaurant, Randolph. The bus will leave the Fluvanna Avenue parking lot at 9 a.m. and return at 4 p.m. For more information, contact Yvonne Lee at 814-726-0796 or Nancy J. Schuyler, 664-4598.

Harvest Dinner Is Monday, Oct. 8

The Lakewood Rod and Gun Auxiliary will hold a harvest dinner at 6 p.m. on Oct. 8 in the club dining room. Members attending should take a dish to pass. Mary Alonge and Lyn Spencer will be greeters; June Walter, Shirley Carlson and Connie Whitman, helpers.
