DEWITTVILLE - Isaac E. (Gene) Steele, 83, of Old Route 17, died Monday (Sept. 24, 2012) at his residence.
He was born Feb. 1, 1929, in Huntingdon, Pa., the son of Isaac and Sadie Bradley Steele.
Before retiring in 1994, he had been employed for many years at Hopes Architectural Products.
He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Korean War.
He had enjoyed fishing, hunting and woodworking, and had a great sense of humor.
Gene is survived by his children: Brenda Steele of Westfield, Pam (Jim) Willi-ams of Millville, Pa., Sandy (John) Holliday of Ran-dolph and Gene (Lynn) Steele of Frewsburg; seven grandchildren: Sarah, Re-becca, Erin and Zachary Williams, and Andrew, Matthew and Bethany Steele; four stepchildren; and several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Jessie Steele; a son, Brian Steele; two brothers: David and Robert Steele; two sisters: Mildred Rhodes and Florence Jack-son; and second wife, Frei-da Steele.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Peterson Funeral Home, Frewsburg. The Rev. Ronald Lemon, pastor of the Koinonia Christian Fel-lowship, Frewsburg, will of-ficiate. Burial will be in South Napoli Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Fri-day in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to a charity of choice.
