Ellington Board To Talk Budget

ELLINGTON - The Ellington Town Board will hold budget work meetings on Oct. 3, 15, 17 and 31. Regular board meetings will be held Oct. 10 and 24. The public is welcome to attend.

Prelicensing Class Set For Monday

FREWSBURG - A five-hour prelicensing driving course will be held from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at Frewsburg High School. Pre-register by calling the guidance office at 569-7026 between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Kiantone Seniors To Meet Today

KIANTONE - The Kiantone Seniors will meet at noon today at the Kiantone Fire Hall for a tureen luncheon. Those attending should bring a dish to pass and their table service. Guests and new members are always welcome to attend.

Cemetery Cleanup Before Oct. 7

FALCONER - Officials at the Pine Hill Cemetery in Falconer request that all summer decorations be removed from the cemetery by Sunday, Oct. 7. Any decoration left on gravesites after Oct. 7 will be removed by cemetery personnel.

Safe Routes Meeting Set

A public meeting regarding the Safe Routes To School grant for proposed pedestrian improvements around the Ring School and Washington School areas will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the City Council Chambers on the second floor of Jamestown City Hall, 200 E. Third St.. The public is invited to attend.

Historical Society To Meet Oct. 2

SINCLAIRVILLE - The next meeting of the Valley Historical Society will be Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the museum at Main and Lester streets in Sinclairville. The program will be presented by Pam Brown, Panama historian.

Story Time Begins Oct. 3

BEMUS POINT - The Bemus Point Library will begin its preschool story time from 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3. Caregivers are to remain present and siblings are invited. The children will enjoy songs, stories, crafts and a snack. Registration is appreciated. The program will follow the public school calendar. Baby-Sitting Clinic Set For Oct. 8

The Jamestown YMCA will hold its next YMCA baby-sitting clinic for boys and girls between the ages of 11 and 16 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, Oct. 8, at the Jamestown YMCA. The clinic will instruct participants about the responsibilities involved in caring for younger children including child development, safety and emergency response. The clinic is taught by experienced instructors who have knowledge in child development, health and overall care of children. Participants should bring a brown bag lunch. Space is limited.
