To Hike Sunday

Dinner And Movie Night Is Friday
CASSADAGA - The Cassadaga Community Baptist Church, 25 Maple Ave., Cassadaga, will hold a free dinner and movie night Friday in the church fellowship hall. The dinner will be served at 6 p.m., and the movie, The 5th Quarter, will follow at 7 p.m. The dinner and movie are free and open to the public.
Parks Commission To Meet Thursday
The Chautauqua County Parks Commission will hold its monthly meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Chautauqua County Airport. The public is welcome to attend.
Rummage Sale This Weekend
GERRY - The Gerry United Methodist Church will hold a rummage and bake sale from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m Friday and a rummage bake, and bag sale from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday. Snack foods will be available for sale both days as well. Clothing, toys, household and holiday related items are some of the items that will be for sale. The sale will be in Fellowship Hall at the Gerry United Methodist Church located at the corner of Route 60 and Church Street. Proceeds will be used for the general fund and to support mission work. The Chautauqua County Soil and Water Conservation District board will meet at 8:30 a.m. Thursday in the district office, 3542 Turner Road, Jamestown. The public is welcome to attend.
Cemetery Group To Meet Oct. 1
The annual lot owners' meeting of the Sinclairville Evergreen Cemetery Association was held recently. Diman Smith and Louann Smith were elected to fill the open positions on the association board. The next association board meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 1.
Civil Service Exam
Set For Nov. 17
The New York State Park Police will hold a civil service examination Nov. 17 for qualified candidates between the ages of 18 and 35 who have 60 college credits and are New York state residents prior to hiring. To sign up for the exam, candidates need to log on at www.cs.ny.gov, find the exam for Park Patrol Trainee and follow the online application process. The deadline to apply is Oct. 1. Bemus Point Library Hours Set
BEMUS POINT - The hours of the Bemus Point Library, effective Oct. 1, are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, 1 to 5 p.m. Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
