Beverly A. Laurin, 73, of 101 Wescott St., died Thursday, Sept. 20, 2012, in WCA Hospital.
She was born Sept. 26, 1938, in Jamestown, a daughter of the late Russell and Gladys (Berglund) Peterson, and graduated from Jamestown High School in 1956.
Bev had been employed by The Post-Journal for 22 years and was a member of the Vikings. She was an avid reader and enjoyed classic movies and football, especially the Buffalo Bills.

She is survived by a son, Gregory L. "Woody" Woodfield (Susan) of Olive Branch, Miss.; twin daughters: Janice Matteson (Jay) of Celoron and Jill Woodfield (George Glaser) of Phoenix, Ariz. and daughter, Kristina "Tina" Laurin (Scott Hakes) of Jamestown; two step-children, Douglas Laurin of Jamestown and Diana Laurin Clark (Scott) of Warren; many grandchildren, step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; a brother, Rodney Peterson; and two sisters: Donna Taft (Phillip) and Carol Samuelson, all of Jamestown.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Classon; sister-in-law, Barbara Peterson and brother-in-law, Ivar Samuelson; and a step-grandson, Staff Sgt. J.C. Matteson.
A remembrance gathering will be held Sunday, Sept. 23 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Celoron Log Cabin.
