Jamestown Radiologists has entered into contracts to become a participating provider with the area's major insurance providers, including Blue Cross Blue Shield of Western New York, Independent Health and Univera.
"The world of health care has changed dramatically in recent years, leaving the people of Jamestown and the Southern Tier with uncertainty over how and where to receive the services they need," said Dr. Ronald D. Klizek, Jamestown Radiologists president. "These agreements are a way to help the people of this community, the community that we call home, get the care they need, when they need it."
For Jamestown Radiologists, the decision to enter into the insurance agreements is seen as the next phase of the practice's growth and evolution. The practice has been a part of the Jamestown community for over 40 years. Over that time, the practice and its physicians have developed close working relationships with WCA Hospital, many area employers, physicians, and residents alike. Jamestown Radiologists handles 100,000 cases per year, ranging from X-ray imaging to ultrasound, CT, mammography, MRI scans and other procedures including interventional radiology techniques.
"The unsustainable growth of health care-related costs is an important issue from the board rooms to the kitchen tables across the country," Klizek said. "Our practice is part of the fabric of the Jamestown community and surrounding communities. Like our fellow providers at WCA Hospital and elsewhere, we are committed to finding practical solutions that will ensure the people of Jamestown can continue to have trusted, local physicians to turn to when the need arises. We've been here for over 40 years and we want to be here for another 40 years."
In addition to Dr. Klizek, the physicians who make up the Jamestown Radiologists team are Dr. James Dahlie, Dr. Lyndon Gritters, Dr. Brian Meagher, Dr. Bruce Rockwell and Dr. Dallen Ashby. All are board-certified radiologists and many have fellowship training.
Jamestown Radiologists is the recipient of the Community Leaders award from the Chautauqua County Partners for Prevention, which is awarded to an organization for enhancing the quality of life for cancer patients through exemplary service.
