Trojans Post Shutout Over Westfield/Brocton

BROCTON - Southwestern's defense shined as the Trojans (2-0, 5-1-1) shut out Westfield/Brocton, 2-0, in Division 1 boys soccer on Tuesday

It was a scoreless first half until the 24:02 mark when Tristan Desnerck found the net on an assist by Ross Beresford for a 1-0 lead. The Trojans scored again at 23:12 of the second half thanks to Dylan Lundmark, who knocked in his first varsity goal, unassisted.

Eric Priester had five saves for Southwestern to get the victory in goal.

Bryce Bentham made 18 saves for Westfield/Brocton (0-2, 2-2).

DIVISION 2

WARRIORS POST SHUTOUT

SALAMANCA - Four different Salamanca players delivered goals as the Warriors (2-1, 4-1) blanked Portville, 4-0.

Eli Phillips scored Salamanca's first goal 20 minutes into the first half with an assist by Mike Morris and Evan Harrington knocked in a goal five minutes into second half to make it 2-0.

Ford Reynolds then scored another Warrior goal as Tyler Martin got the assist and Austin Minner competed the scoring with an assist by Reynolds.

The winning goalkeeper was Mackenzie Tucker, who had seven saves while Josh Watson collected nine saves for the Panthers (0-5-1) in the losing effort.

SILVER CREEK PREVAILS

SILVER CREEK - It was a defensive battle in windy conditions as Silver Creek (2-1-1 2-3-1) trimmed Cattaraugus-Little Valley (1-2, 3-2), 1-0.

Evan Ward scored the only goal of the game 18 minutes into the first half, unassisted, and he had plenty of support from goaltender Dan Sweetman, who had 12 saves.

Dylan Rhinehart collected nine saves for the Timberwolves.

DIVISION 3

ANDRIACCIOS SHINE

WEST VALLEY - The Andriaccio brothers stole the show.

Jacob Andriaccio, assisted by Justin, tallied the game's opening goal with 15 minutes remaining in the second half and then Justin scored unassisted five minutes later to clinch the Thunderbirds' 2-0 victory over West Valley.

Ryan Linnecke made 20 saves in the nets for the victors.

NON-LEAGUE

COUGARS FALL

SINCLAIRVILLE - Allegany-Limestone delivered a strong offensive attack in posting a 7-0 shutout win over Cassadaga Valley.

Paul Caterina earned the hat trick to lead the Gators, Brad McAfee added a pair of goals and Shawn Dubin and Cole Davis each added one goal.

Cougars' goalie Tim Bender had 44 saves.
