WCA To Offer Free Blood Pressure Screenings At Grand Opening

September 19, 2012
The Post-Journal

WCA Hospital will offer complimentary blood pressure screenings and emergency health and vaccination education during its grand opening of WCA's 21st century emergency department from 12:30 to 4 p.m. on Sunday.

The screenings are confidential and free.

"An ounce of prevention can be the key to living a long and healthy life," said Toni DeAngelo, WCA Hospital community health and wellness director. "About one in two U.S. adults have high blood pressure which increases the risk for heart disease and stroke, leading causes of death in the United States. High blood pressure is called the silent killer because it often has no warning signs or symptoms and many people don't realize they have it. That is why it is so important to get your blood pressure checked on a regular basis. We encourage our residents to stop by our Grand Opening to get their blood pressure checked and receive the latest information on staying healthy and well."
