The Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office is investigating numerous car larcenies from unlocked vehicles during the evening and overnight hours over the past several weeks in the towns of Portland, Dunkirk and Pomfret. Lock vehicles and try not to leave any valuables in them if possible. If anybody observes any suspicious persons or activity, call the sheriff's office using 911 or 672-5151.
