SALAMANCA The McDonald's Senior Golf Tour wrapped its 2012 regular season with a visit to Elkdale Country Club on Monday and Denny Ayers fired a plus 1 in Flight A, using the modified Stableford scoring system.
Paul Olkowski and Roger Milspaw also had plus 1s and Ayers shot a 74 for the low gross.
In Flight B, Bob Wade led the way with plus 7 and also had an 81 for the low gross, Jim Wirges was next with plus 6 and Bruce Carlson shot plus 4.
Ray Galligan topped Flight C with plus 9, followed by Bill Anderson with plus 8 and Lynn Butcher had plus 4 for third. Anderson was the low-gross leader with 85.
Charlie Stafford paced Flight D with plus 9, George Lepold was second with plus 8 and Dene Lindquist took third with plus 3. Leopold fired an 88 for the low gross.
In Flight E, Wayne Lind finished first with plus 6 and carded a 95 for the low gross while Boyd Mattison was second with plus 3 and Cass Culotta took third with plus 1.
Harold Eckwahl was the Flight F winner with plus 10, Bill Saulsgiver was next with plus 6 and Jim Polvino fired a plus 5 for third place. Saulsgiver was the low gross winner with 98.
In closest-to-the-pin action, Wade took the honors on No. 4, Tom Gooch on No. 9, Ayers on No. 12 and Ray Galligan on No. 16.
The McDonald's Senior Tour will conclude with a year-end scramble and banquet, which is slated for South Hills Country Club, beginning at 9 a.m. on Sept. 24.
