Bears Earn Division 2 Tennis Shutout

Frewsburg (2-0, 2-1) defeated Maple Grove, 5-0, in Division 2 girls tennis on Wednesday.

The winners were led by first singles Rachel Mole, second singles Emily Hair, third singles Rosemarie Mole, first doubles Tera Anderson and Olivia Sposato and second doubles Katie Prentice and Lucia Abejon.

FREDONIA PREVAILS

Fredonia (2-1, 3-1) blanked Chautauqua Lake (1-1, 1-2), 5-0, in non-league action.

Baylee Tarnowski, Georgianna Gens, Lauren Millson, Dana Wrojratana and Marina Kessler, Cheyanne Gifford and Sarah Zinni emerged with the wins for Fredonia

At third singles, Millson had a great match from Jenelle Senske, 7-5, 5-7 (11-9 tie-breaker).

TROJANS POST SHUTOUT

Southwestern continues to roll, posting a 5-0 sweep over host Jamestown (1-2, 1-3) in Division 1 girls tennis on Tuesday to remain undefeated.

May Li put another strong first-singles win for the Lady Trojans (3-0, 5-0) by defeating Abby Wisner, 6-1, 6-2, and in first doubles, Elizabeth Rowan and Victoria VanEvery downed Morgan Deppas and Kim Lindquist, 6-0, 6-0.

FALCONER SWEEPS

FALCONER - Falconer picked up its second Division 2 win of the season and third overall with a 5-0 sweep of Salamanca (0-1, 0-1).

Carolyn Becker took first singles for the Lady Golden Falcons (2-0, 3-1) with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Megan Koniak and Rebecca Hartling and Elizabeth Becker were first doubles winners with a 6-2, 6-0 victory over Myah Stellabuto and Mackenzie Riggs.
