Ruth Jimerson Bova

Ruth Jimerson Bova, 79, of 641 South Loop Road, Steamburg, N.Y., passed away Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2012, in the comfort of her home, following a long illness.

She was born Dec. 10, 1932, in Onoville, N.Y., the daughter of the late Clinton and Cynthia Jimerson. She was married to Myron Charles Bova in Frewsburg, N.Y., who predeceased her on March 15, 2008.

Ruth was a graduate of Salamanca Central High School.

She was employed for many years at ACME Electric in Allegany, N.Y., prior to her retirement.

Ruth and her family were among the many families removed from Onoville to Steamburg due to the building of the Kinzua Dam.

She enjoyed doing beadwork and making corn husk dolls. She enjoyed her family, sitting on her porch, and picnics at the family camp in Onoville.

Ruth was an enrolled member of the Seneca Nation of Indians and the Wolf Clan. She was a sealed member of the New Apostolic Church, Jamestown, N.Y.

Surviving are a son, David (Dorene) Bova, Steamburg, N.Y.; five daughters: Judy (Ron) Jimerson, Patricia (Marlet) John, Cynthia Jemison and Charlene (Wilbur) John, all of Steamburg, N.Y., and Sharon (Jerry) Atwood, Salamanca, N.Y.; 13 grandchildren; four step grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; a brother, Vernon Jimerson, Port Charlotte, Fla; a sister, Colleen Frailey, Steamburg, N.Y; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a son, Clinton Charles Bova; four sisters: Rosine Mohawk, Vera Baker, Delores Oldshield Bowen and Elenora Bova Bowen: and a brother, Wilbur Jimerson.

Friends may call at the O'Rourke & O'Rourke Inc. Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River St., Salamanca, N.Y., on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at the New Apostolic Church, 314 Hall Ave., Jamestown, N.Y., with Pas-tor Michael Komula officiating.

Burial will be in Steamburg Cemetery, Steamburg, New York at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Coldspring Volunteer Fire Company; or the American Diabetes Association, or Home Care & Hospice, 1225 West State St., Olean, NY 14760.
