Eugene S. Ross, formerly of Howard Street, Jamestown, N.Y., went home to be with the Lord on Aug. 24, 2012, from Clare Bridge Nursing Home in Winter Haven, Fla.

Gene was born in Ludlow, Pa., on Feb. 28, 1922, to H. Stacey Ross and Edith (Carlson) Ross. As a child, he moved with his parents to Jamestown where he resided until February 2011, following the death of his beloved wife of 63 years, Inez (Johnson) Ross. At that time, he moved to Lake Wales, Fla. to live with his daughter, Deb Creasy, and her husband, Don.

Until his retirement in 1984, Gene worked as a licensed electrician in the Jamestown area. His hobbies were baseball, bowling and golf. Following his retirement, he also enjoyed traveling, gardening, working on home improvement projects and "puttering" in his basement and garage. Gene was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend.
