Fifty-three members attended the Lakewood-Busti Golden Agers meeting held at the Busti Park where a chicken barbecue was served, catered by Falconer Foods.
Edward Martiny was welcomed as a new member.
President Theresa Perrin presided. Prayer was led by Ruby Harp. The secretary report was presented by Connie Whitman and treasurer's report by Joann Osman.
President Perrin requested a committee be formed to take over couponing for our military overseas.
Members were reminded of upcoming events: a mystery trip on Sept. 24 will leave the Lakewood Recreation Center at 7 a.m. and return around 7 p.m., also the United Senior Council is holding their annual Senior Social at the Kiantone Fire Hall. There will be a meal, basket raffles, 50/50 and the big band sound by Tim Stockman. Tickets are $11 with the Lakewood-Busti Golden Agers paying $5 for their members. The next meeting is scheduled for Sept. 18 at the Lakewood Recreation Center at 1:30 p.m.
The committee will be Shirley Confer, Bob and Harriet Vergith, and Pat Hayner.
Newest life members are Marge Allesi and Martha Crandall.
Monthly birthdays and anniversaries were celebrated.
The Lakewood-Busti Golden Agers meet the third Tuesday of every month at 1:30 p.m. Membership is open to any senior. Call Theresa Perrin for further information at 665-2414.
