Community Run, Walk?Is Sept. 16
MAYVILLE - A Community Harvest walk, run and bike ride will be held starting at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 16, at the Mayville United Methodist Church. The event benefits the Ashville and Mayville food pantries, which help more than 300 families each month. All donations are distributed locally. Monument To Be Dedicated Sept. 8
SINCLAIRVILLE - The Sinclairville Soldier's Monument fund will celebrate the replacement of the civil war soldier's statue in the Evergreen Cemetery, on Saturday, Sept. 8, following the 2012 Sinclairville History Fair Parade. The parade starts at 9 a.m. All veterans with motorcycles are to join the precession. The new statue, titled "Soldier at Parade Rest," has been crafted Timothy P. Schmalz, recreating the statue in bronze.
Library Association To Meet Tonight
CASSADAGA - The Cassadaga Branch Library Association will meet for a picnic supper at Regina Burlingame's home on Maple Avenue, Cassadaga, at 5:30 p.m. today. Members are asked to bring a dish to pass; table service will be provided. New members are welcome.
Blood Drive Is Today In Frewsburg
The Community Blood Bank will host blood drives from 3 to 6 p.m. today at the Frewsburg American Legion and 3 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Busti Church of God. Anyone who donates will be entered to win an all-expense-paid trip for four to Walt Disney World. No appointments are necessary.
Fluvanna Library Holding Fundraiser
FLUVANNA - The Fluvanna Library is holding a fall fundraiser for a drawing to win a Kindle Fire. The drawing will be held at the close of the fall bazaar Nov. 10. Tickets are available at the library.
Church To Host Movie Night Friday
CASSADAGA - The Cassadaga Community Baptist Church, 25 Maple Ave., Cassadaga, will hold a free dinner and movie night Friday in the church fellowship hall. The dinner will be served at 6 p.m., and the movie will follow at 7 p.m. The dinner and movie, Clancy, are free, and is open to the public. All are welcome.
Valley Historical Society To Meet
SINCLAIRVILLE - The Valley Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 4, inthe museum, Main and Lester streets, Sinclairville. Members will be finalizing plans for the 14th annual History Fair, which will be from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 8.
