CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT
HANOVER - Todd McTigue, 44, of Hammocks Drive, Orchard Park. was charged with driving while intoxicated, DWI per se for having a blood alcohol content of .08 percent or higher and failure to stop at a stop sign at 10:18 p.m. Thursday. Police stopped a vehicle driven by McTigue for not stopping at a stop sign on Allegany Road. Investigation revealed that McTigue was intoxicated. He will answer to the charges in Town of Hanover Court.
CASSADAGA - Steven M. Peilmeier, 27, of Jamestown was charged with following too close after a personal-injury accident on Route 60 in Cassadaga at 12:55 p.m. Saturday. A Fredonia woman was turning left into Kwik Fill on Route 60 when the car she was driving was rear-ended by Peilmeier's vehicle. The woman was taken to Brooks Memorial Hospital in Dunkirk after complaining of neck pain. A passenger in the victim's car was uninjured. Peilmeier also was not injured, but was charged with following too close and will appear in Town of Stockton Court at a later date.
HANOVER - John May, 56, of Angell Road, Silver Creek, and Alberta Bogle, 56, also of Angell Road, Silver Creek, were both charged with second-degree harassment at 6:17 p.m. Friday. Sheriff's deputies responded to a call for an altercation. Upon arrival, it was determined that both subjects threw items at each other. They will answer to the charges in Town of Hanover Court.
CHARLOTTE - Shawn A. Cavender, 43, of 3254 Smith Road, Sinclairville, was charged with two counts of aggravated criminal contempt, criminal mischief and criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation at 9:13 p.m. Friday. Sheriff's deputies responded to a call for an unwanted person trying to break in to a Charlotte residence. After an investigation, it was alleged that Cavender choked an individual at the residence earlier in the day and then left. Cavender then allegedly returned to the residence and damaged property while trying to gain entrance. Both incidents are violations of an order of protection against him. He was arraigned in town court and sent to the Chautauqua County Jail.
