The Post-Journal

FREWSBURG - Five local men face burglary charges after stealing recyclable metal from a local business.

Town of Carroll Police charged Andrew Magee, 18, Caleb Huntington, 18, Dylan Hall, 19, and Richard Hallowell, 20, all of Jamestown, and Ean Burch, 18, of Frewsburg with third-degree burglary and petit larceny following a monthlong investigation.

On Friday, July 20, Chautauqua County Sheriff's Department and Town of Carroll police officers observed the five stealing recyclable metal products to sell as scrap metal from inside a building owned and operated by Baker Commodities Inc., 225 W. Main St., Frewsburg.

A subsequent investigation revealed that none of the five had permission to enter the building or take any of the products and they were eventually taken into custody over a two-day period without incident.

The suspects were arraigned in Town of Carroll Court and taken to Chautauqua County Jail in lieu of bail.
