City Man Charged After Urinating On Woman

A Jamestown man was taken to the city jail after allegedly harassing and urinating on a woman Tuesday night.

Edward Melendez, 39, of Jamestown, was charged with two counts of second-degree harassment and endangering the welfare of a child at 11:40 p.m. Tuesday. According to a police report, officers responded to a report of a party on Buffalo Street.

When officers arrived, they found group of people, including Melendez. While speaking with them, Melendez allegedly spit in the face of woman. Officers learned Melendez had followed the woman from East Second Street to Buffalo Street, repeatedly threatening her and harassing her. He also allegedly urinated on the woman while she was walking with her 14-year-old daughter.

Melendez was taken to the city jail and held until he can be arraigned.
