Senior Report To Host TRC Director
Senior Report with Reed Powers will have Steve Waterson as the guest Saturday. Waterson is the director of community relations with The Resource Center. The live, call-in program airs from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday. Individuals may call 753-5225 during that time with questions or comments. The program is rebroadcast each day at 2 and 8 p.m. for some communities. Reed Powers, host of Senior Report, has been producing the television program since 1995. The series highlights senior citizen club news for 15 minutes with the remainder of the hour-long program devoted to the featured guest. The guest is subject to change. Senior Report is shown live on Saturday mornings on Time Warner cable systems covering the following communities: Brocton, Cassadaga, Chautauqua, Fredonia, Mayville, North Harmony, Portland, Ripley, Sherman, Stockton and Westfield on Channel 5. In Dunkirk, Forestville, Hanover, Irving and Silver Creek the program is on channel 19. The show originates at the Access Channel 5 studio in Mayville.
Outdoor Club To Ride Thursday
On Thursday, the Allegheny Outdoor Club will ride bikes from Russell to Warren on the Big Four Road, then return the same way. Participants will meet at the Russell Post Office at 5:30 p.m. For more information, call Pat Spicer at 814-757-8331 from 9 to 11 p.m.
Thrift Shop To Hold Bag Sale
St. Luke's Thrift Shop, 409 Pine St., Jamestown, will have an end-of-summer bag sale from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday. Bags of items will cost $2. The shop will then be closed from Friday through Sept. 5, when the shop will open with fall merchandise. Off-street parking is available in the church parking lot just off of Fifth Street.
Thule Lodge
To Host Dinner
BEMUS POINT - The Thule Lodge, 4123 Pancake Hill Road, will hold a hot dog and corn roast at the lodge at 6 p.m. Thursday. All members are encouraged to attend. There will be no charge for the food. Following the meal, the lodge's monthly meeting will be held beginning at 7 p.m. All members are welcome to attend. The Thule Lodge has been in the Jamestown/Bemus Point area for 105 years, preserving the Swedish heritage through events and activities.
Outdoor Club To Kayak Sunday
On Sunday, the Allegheny Outdoor Club will kayak on Chautauqua Lake. Participants will meet at McCrea Point Boat Landing, at the west end of Eighth Street in Jamestown, at 2 p.m. They will then shuttle their kayaks to the Celoron Boat Landing then paddle back to McCrea Point. Cornell Co-Op
To Meet Monday
The Cornell Cooperative Extension Chautauqua County board will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 27, at the Frank W. Bratt Agricultural Center, 3542 Turner Road, Jamestown. The public is welcome to attend.
