Expanded Line

Artone Moves Into Health Care Furniture World

Artone has launched a new division to deliver furniture solutions for the health care community.

Cooltree is the new sales and marketing division started by Artone to provide health care furniture selections from seating to beds to accessories. For the past 38 years, Artone has been a Jamestown manufacturer, located at 107 Institute St., of furniture primarily for the hospitality, commercial and retail store fixtures markets. Some of their clients include Microtel Hotels, Seneca Casino Hotels, DSW Shoe Warehouse and Disney.

During the last 20 years, they have also built health care furniture on a limited basis. However, with the launch of Cooltree, Artone will now provide furniture solutions from design to installation for the health care market. Not all of the products in the Cooltree line will be made by Artone. Artone has collaborated with other companies to bring the most innovative health care-related products to the market place.

''We felt it was the right time to make a major investment in the health care sector. We hired QR Formula Group, who specializes in health care sales and marketing plans, to develop a plan to expand our reach nationwide,'' said Michael Calimeri, Artone president. ''During the next year, we will seek out other manufacturers to partner with to be able to offer a complete line of furnishings to the health care market. By bundling goods and services, we will significantly improve our product and deliver a more comprehensive service to our clients.''

The new furniture line has the flexibility to develop everything from flat-panel production to completed casegoods. Cooltree craftsmen use materials such as laminates, woods, veneers, edge treatments, plastics, stone products and metals. Calimeri said Artone is seeking more space to expand and will need to hire more people during the next five years. The company has around 80 employees.

''This is good news for the community and Artone employees,'' he said.

Calimeri said Artone has partnered with area Jamestown manufacturers for the start of the new health care furniture division.

''Anytime Artone can buy a piece for a part or the full product from a local manufacturer, we buy it here locally,'' Calimeri said.

To showcase its new division, Artone officials will be featured at the Leading Age health care furniture exhibition Oct. 20-21 in Denver.

For Artone, the launch of its new division on Aug. 15 is significant. This was also the first day of the Woodstock festival in 1969. The goal of Cooltree is to become an iconic brand and embrace the spirit and energy of the Woodstock festival. Cooltree officials have used a music theme in naming its product lines. The new website for Cooltree can be viewed at www.designbycooltree.com. For more information on Artone, visit www.artonemfg.com or call 664-2232.
