HANOVER - A Hanover man was taken to Erie County Medical Center in Buffalo following a logging accident Tuesday.
First responders answered a call on Angell Road in the town of Hanover at 7:24 p.m. A Chautauqua County Sheriff's office investigation showed that the victim was working on a logging trail with a tractor and allegedly pushed a tree with the bucket of the tractor causing a large piece of the tree to break off and strike the victim.
The victim was transported to Lakeshore Hospital and later to ECMC by Starflight for treatment.
Sheriff's deputies and Starflight were assisted by Hanover Center, Sunset Bay and Silver Creek fire departments at the scene.
