The public is invited to an open house on the Lutheran Campus on Saturday from 10 a.m. until noon for a tour of the newly remodeled Lindgren Apartment at 136 Aldren Ave., Edgewood Communities.

"We're looking to the future," said Sharon Hamilton, vice president, Lutheran Senior Housing. "We've learned that as people downsize, there are features in their homes that they don't want to give up. We've been listening, and we're creating spaces they'll love."

The new model apartment offers a modern kitchen with a full-sized refrigerator, stove and dishwasher, a walk-in shower, a second bathroom, a washer-dryer combination and improved storage spaces.

An open house was held for residents of Edgewood Communities to get their feedback and ideas on the new features.

"The community is invited to come and see what we have to offer and to give us their ideas for future improvements," Hamilton added.

Edgewood Communities is located on the 123-acre Lutheran Campus off Falconer Street in Jamestown. Residents are ages 55 and older.

"Our residents are physically active, and they pride themselves in their zest for life and intellectual engagement," Hamilton said.

Housing includes one- and two-bedroom apartments, duplex homes and the Smartment Building. For more information, call the Senior Housing office at 665-8197 or log onto www.lutheran-jamestown.org.
