STOCKTON - An area resident is being held in the Chautauqua County Jail after an investigation into sexual abuse.

Ryan M. Robbins, 22, of 4600 Munger Road, Stockton, was charged with first-degree sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child on May 21, 2011. According to a police report, Robbins allegedly subjected a 12-year-old female to sexual contact at a residence in the town of North Harmony on that date.

After a joint investigation was concluded with the Chautauqua County District Attorney's Office, Child Protective Services and the Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office, a warrant was issued for Robbins' arrest. He was picked up at his residence Thursday without incident. After arraignment, Robbins was committed to the Chautauqua County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 property bond.

Anyone with information regarding criminal activity is asked to contact their local law enforcement.
