Robert N. Connelly, 85, of 817 Birch Road, St. Mar-ys, Pa., died Friday, July 27, 2012, at DuBois Re-gional Medical Center fol-lowing a brief illness.
He was born Nov. 25, 1926, in Jamestown, N.Y., a son of the late Herbert and Leila Barton Connelly.
On June 14, 1952, in Jamestown, N.Y., he mar-ried Delores Hearburg Con-nelly, who survives.
Mr. Connelly was a resident of St. Marys since 1956, and was Protestant by faith. He graduated from Jamestown High School, class of 1944, and was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific Theatre.
He was employed as a field engineer for more than 34 years with Unisys, retir-ing in 1986. He was a member of the American Legion and enjoyed golfing, traveling and trips to Salamanca. He was an avid reader and frequented the St. Marys Public Li-brary. Most of all, he en-joyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife of more than 60 years, Delores Hearburg Connelly, he is survived by daughter, Brenda, Mrs. Edward "Buddy" Cunningham, St. Marys, daughter, RoAnn, Mrs. Robert "Hoss" Cun-ningham, St. Marys and son, Douglas Connelly and his wife, Jill, Smithsburg, Md.; 10 grandchildren; and sister, Jeanette Anderson, Jamestown, N.Y.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers: Gordon, Roger and Richard Connelly; and two sisters: Phyllis Freeman and Alice Bowers.
At the request of Mr. Connelly, no services will be held.
