Cattaraugus County Bank Donates Ballfield To South Dayton

August 5, 2012
The Post-Journal

The village of South Dayton now owns a ballfield.

Cattaraugus County Bank recently handed the deed to a piece of property over to Karen Strickland, South Dayton mayor. The piece of property deeded to the village was previously used by many South Dayton area children as a place to play ball. Cattaraugus County Bank originally acquired the property when purchasing land to build a new banking facility that unifies the existing branches in Cherry Creek and South Dayton.

"We are so pleased we are able to donate this ball field to the village," said Salvatore Marranca, Cattaraugus County Bank president and chief executive officer. "Our philosophy at CCB is to help by reinvesting in the communities we serve. This donation is one way we can do that ... we can help ensure that children continue to have a place to meet, have fun and play one of America's favorite games."

Village officials welcomed the donation and are making plans on how they will move forward now that the village owns the land.

CCB's new 2,300-square-foot building will provide customer access and service through three indoor teller stations and one ADA-compatible service window, a new accounts area, a manager's office for private financial discussions, a conference room for meetings and loan closings, computer access for customers and an employee kitchenette and restrooms. In addition, there will be a drive-thru lane, a drive-up ATM for express service and a hitching post.

Construction is expected to be complete by mid-September. When construction is complete, a grand opening party will take place.

Cattaraugus County Bank is an FDIC-insured, state-chartered independent, community bank. From January 2, 1902, CCB has accumulated more than $180 million in assets. For more information, visit the bank's website at www.ccblv.com. CCB is an equal housing lender. CCB's main office is located in Little Valley.
