RIPLEY - A North East, Pa. man faces several charges stemming from an April incident Thursday in Ripley Town Court.

Michael A. Voorhis, 24, of 4232 Emily Drive, North East, Pa., was arraigned in front of the Hon. Vera L. Hustead on charges of third-degree assault, second-degree reckless endangerment and endangering the welfare of a child.

On April 9 around 4 p.m., Chautauqua County Sheriff's deputies say Voorhis caused injury to a 5-month-old child. The child sustained serious injuries and was treated at Women & Children's Hospital in Buffalo.

Voorhis was released on his own recognizance and will appear back in court at a later date.
