Rummage Sale Set For Saturday

LAKEWOOD - Sacred Heart Church, 380 E. Fairmount Ave., Lakewood, will hold a rummage sale from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and a bag sale from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.

Bible School Begins Today

Christ First United Methodist Church, corner of Lakeview Avenue and Buffalo Street, Jamestown, is hosting its vacation Bible school for children in pre-kindergarten through sixth grades from 6 to 8:30 p.m. today through Friday. The program is called Operation Overboard - Go Deep With God.

Bible School Starts Monday

The Salvation Army, 83 S. Main St., Jamestown, will hold a vacation Bible school from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday, Aug. 10. The theme is ''Sky.'' To register, call 664-4108.

Picnic Set For Home Employees

A picnic for former Manor Oak nursing home employees will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 8, at Bergman Park in Jamestown. Anyone interested in attending should RSVP by calling Rosie Digirolamo at 665-5360 or Ann Damon at 782-3960. The cost for the picnic will be $2 a person.

Cassadaga Valley Board To Meet

CASSADAGA - The regular monthly meeting of the Cassadaga Valley Central School 75th anniversary committee will be at 7 p.m. Thursday in the high school building's multi-purpose room. Anyone interested is welcome to attend.

Groups To Discuss Water Quality

MAYVILLE - The Chautauqua County Department of Planning and Economic Development, in partnership the Chautauqua Lake Management Commission, the Chautauqua Lake Association and Chautauqua Watershed Conservancy developed a watershed management plan to define realistic and achievable solutions for water quality restoration and protection. In conjunction with this planning effort, the "Chautauqua Watershed Planning for a Healthy Future" video was produced to raise local awareness about watershed management issues and promote actions watershed residents and landowners can take to sustain and improve water quality. The program will air on Access Channel 5 at 3 and 9 p.m. daily starting Monday through Friday, Aug. 10. Access Channel 5 is available to cable viewers in Chautauqua, Mayville, North Harmony, Portland, Sherman, Ripley and Westfield.

Library Board To Meet In Randolph

RANDOLPH - The Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Library System Board of Trustees will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 8, at the Randolph Library, 26 Jamestown St., Randolph. The board will also meet from 1 to 4 p.m. Aug. 8 at the Randolph Library, though a news release states a motion to go into executive session during the meeting is expected during the afternoon meeting.

Ellery Concert Series Continues

ELLERY - The Ellery Town Park Concert Series will feature ''Razz & Friends," Thursday, Aug. 9 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
