A new towing and lockout service provider in Jamestown wants to offer more customer-friendly service to city residents.
Southern Tier Towing Lockout and Recovery, 1115 Washington St., is the name of the business which was started by Henry Seekings earlier this year. The business offers 24-hour, seven-days-a-week towing and lockout services, as well as tire- and battery-changing services. There is a $30 discount offered for in-city tows by mentioning the business's website, www.southerntiertowing.com. Also, the company offers $25 lockout and car jump-start services for Jamestown residents.
''We want to focus more on customer service for Jamestown residents,'' Seekings said. ''We're not taking on as many big service provider jobs because we want to do more for area residents.''

Southern Tier Towing offers battery-changing service with Exide batteries. Seekings said an employee will come to your home to change out your old battery for a new one. Some of the customers Seekings works with includes Kia of Jamestown, Luv Toyota, R&K Motors and A-1 Auto Services.
''A lot of people are turning to me and like the service we provide,'' he said.
Seekings started the business because he wanted to spend more time with his family.
''I was working 60 hours a week at my old job and never got to see my kids,'' he said about his daughters, 5-year-old Marcella and 9-month-old Marlie.
Seekings said he brings his daughter, Marcella, on some of his towing jobs, which is similar to his childhood.
''My dad had a tow truck when I was a kid. So I always kind of liked it,'' he said. ''I usually bring my older daughter with me. She comes along all the time and we have fun.''
So far Seekings said he enjoys his new career.
''Each time I go to work, each day is different,'' he said. ''There is something new everyday.''
Seekings said he has just added a new truck to his fleet of four. The business also buys junk cars and will do tows for antique vehicles. For more information call 499-9TOW (9869).
