Gazebo Concert Tonight In Busti

Tonight's Busti Gazebo concert will feature the Joint Effort Band, which plays classic rock, The Beatles, Elvis, country, blues, and jazz from the '50s, '60s, and '70s. The band began in 1978 in Corry, Pa. The band consists of Richard Kahle on bass and vocals, Steve Hileman on drums and vocals, Karl Lydell on guitar and vocals, Gavin Paterniti on guitar and his wife Julie on vocals. The concert will be held from 7-9 p.m. Attendees are asked to bring lawn chairs. The concert series is sponsored by the Busti Hamlet Development Association, the Busti Fire Department and the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation.

Dunkirk Beaches Closed For Now

MAYVILLE - Dunkirk's Point Gratiot, Main Street and Wright Park bathing beaches are closed due to high levels of bacteria. The Chautauqua County Health Department will continue to monitor and reopen the beaches as soon as possible. For more information, please call 1-866- 604-6789.

JHS Class Of '57 Seeks Classmates

The Jamestown High School Class of 1957 will celebrate its 55th reunion on Sept. 15 and 16. Help is needed in locating James E. Brooks, Brenda G. Francis, Donald Franzen, Edward Gowan, F. William Hermanson, Joan Lindstrom Wilson, Sanford H. Love, Beverly Salupo Spano, Dyanne Schwartz Swanson, Sebastian Triscari, Marilyn Woodruff Bazan and Sandra Larson Hartle. Area Seniors Meet For Dinner

Forty-four Jamestown Area Senior Center members met recently for a tureen dinner. Shirley Schauers, new member, was welcomed. Shirley Vandenburg, activities director, reminded members attending the Pittsburgh Clipper trip, to meet at 7 a.m. Monday. The annual chicken barbecue and picnic will be held at noon on Tuesday in the Lakewood Rod and Gun Club. The cost is $8 per person and must be paid in advance. Discussion was on future trips to Cambridge Springs, Pa. on Aug. 22; payment must be made by Aug. 1; also an Oct. 17 train trip to Medina. Flu shots will be given on Sept. 21, in the center.

Chamber To Host Free Seminar

DUNKIRK - Health Insurance for Business, a free, educational session will be hosted by the Chautauqua County Chamber of Commerce on Thursday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at Shorewood Country Club, 4958 West Lake Road, Dunkirk. The Little Big Band To Perform

SOUTH DAYTON - The Little Big Band will perform at Music in the Park on Wednesday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the South Dayton Village Park Gazebo. The summer music program is sponsored by the New York State Council of the Arts Decentralization Regrant Program administerd by the Cattaraugus Arts Council.
